Obedience App Review: Best BDSM Mobile App For Couples?

Last Updated on:

Want to monitor your sub more closely?

If obedience is the act of submission then the Obedience App is the ultimate way to monitor subservience.

Harnessing the power of tracker technology and using our modern life reliance on smartphones, the Obedience App can be used by BDSM couples to establish a reward and punishment program. Simple to set up and placing the Dominant partner in full control, submissives can earn rewards and update their daily habits (tasks) to achieve their set goals.

The app is suitable for newcomers to the lifestyle or those that have been practicing BDSM for years.

In this Obedience App review, we take a closer look at the new habit tracker app for BDSM couples and give you a full rundown of its most convenient features.

What is Habit Tracking?

Obedience App Review

Habit tracking as a buzzword is the foundation of lots of apps in the lifestyle categories of popular app stores and, quite simply, is a tool to help people measure their progress towards certain targets or goals.

The basic format is a kind of calendar or to-do list against which you can mark your headway.

There are lots of versions of this kind of tool from those that measure your fitness performance to those that are adapted for quitting smoking, learning new skills or dieting.

The Obedience app is simply one which has been developed specifically for BDSM couples (or Doms and subs with multiple play partners) to track their habits and tasks. By completing those items added by their Dom, subs can earn rewards with failure meaning punishments!

It’s a simple enough tool and one which is easily incorporated into our modern lives via the integration with our existing smartphone addictions.

Using The Obedience App

The Obedience App is available to download from the Apple Store or Google Play though you can also get it from other APK sites.

Once downloaded, you will need to allow the app to send you notifications and then make an account. Doing this is straight forward and simply requires a username, email address and password; you will also need to indicate whether you are a sub or Dom…unfortunately the app doesn’t let you choose ‘Switch’.

The habits, rewards and punishments are all managed (as you would expect) by the Dom.

From the Account Settings you will then need to invite fellow Obedience app users to connect with; you can do this via email or message by sending them a link.

Whilst you wait for your partner to join up, you can set up your own:

  • Rewards – give each treat a name and description and decide upon how many points the reward will cost (from 1-5000 points).
  • Punishments – detail what will happen if your sub fails to achieve their goals.
  • Habits – detail what tasks or goals you want your sub to perform and provide a timescale by when these need to be completed. You can make these regular occurrences or they can be a one-off. You can attribute a reward for completion and a punishment for failure before setting up how the alerts and notifications will be displayed.

Once you have set up a habit, your sub will receive a notification and the counter begins.

The basic version of the Obedience app allows you to set up to 7 habits but with Obedience Pro (see ‘Obedience App: Prices’, below) you can establish unlimited tasks for your sub(s).

Lastly, the Results tab will allow you to check a progress report on your sub to see how they are faring with their weekly and monthly scores.

Technical

The download size of this app is around 38MB and, for Apple users, requires iOS 12.0 or later and is compatible with iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch devices.

Obedience App Prices

The Obedience app is free to use on a basic account which gives you access to most of the features listed above; however, premium rate membership is needed to increase the number of habits and tasks and is available as an in-app purchase at the following rates:

  • Obedience Pro – 1 Month: $2.99
  • Obedience Pro – 3 Months: $5.99
  • Obedience Pro – 6 Months: $8.49
  • Obedience Pro – 12 Months: $10.99

Unfortunately, both partners must pay for membership in order to access the premium features so you are looking at double the above prices in total…if not more for those Doms who have multiple subs to track.

Obedience App Review: Our Verdict

The app is being well received by the BDSM community and many couples are quick to praise the developers for this tool. It’s one of those apps that you didn’t know how much you needed (or wanted) it until you have it. And you’re sure to hear a lot about it around the nation’s BDSM clubs.

Simple to use and easy to set up, the Obedience App harnesses the relationship we already have with our smartphones and puts this to good use in maintaining accountability between BDSM partners.

One of the things that we really liked about the app was the fact that it supports multiple people so Doms can keep track of several subs at once. For those people who enjoy playing with lots of partners, the Obedience App can really help out with logistics!

Overall, it’s a pretty cool way to add some extra layers of control into your relationship with total flexibility over what tasks are being defined and what kinds of rewards/punishments these can attract.

However, unless you go Pro on the app, you are limited to the number of ways this control can be laid down so most couples will appreciate the added functionality.

As the popular dungeon quote goes ‘Absolute Obedience Will Be Rewarded’ and this app is proof of that.
