6 Best Bondage Forums for BDSM Discussion

Updated on:

Looking for the best bondage forums to interact with other kinks and BDSM enthusiasts?

One of the best things about the internet is the ability to connect with people who share the same passions and interests. Whilst many of us are happy to conduct our BDSM lifestyle in small and discreet circles, the online community offers a way for us to be anonymous and to explore new ideas and hook-up with other like-minded bondage enthusiasts.

That’s where bondage forums really excel.

There are several great options for BDSM forums – our favorite being the aptly named Bound Forum. This is a friendly place to anonymously discuss all things BDSM related – from self-bondage to latex, rubber and mummification!

If you are looking to actually ‘network’ with other bondage lovers, we’d recommend signing up on ALT.com. It’s a hookup community targeted at alternative lifestyles, meaning you’ll meet a LOT of bondage lovers — some of them in your very own local town or city.

In this Bondage Forum Guide, we take a look at some of the best sites for people interested in bondage. If you are looking for a friendly online BDSM community, these sites are all worth a visit:

What Are The Best Bondage Forums?

If you want to chat about BDSM, it’s not the sort of subject that translates well to Facebook or Twitter. In fact, it’s a pretty effective way of raising eyebrows fast.

That’s where these kinky forums come in useful!

While there are plenty of straightforward porn forums, you’ll find a number that specialise in BDSM…

We’ll start with our favorite bondage forum of the bunch…

The Bound Forum

www.boundforum.com

We kick off our list with The Bound Forum, a really informal and non-threatening place for kinksters with a taste for all areas of the BDSM lifestyle. The site is designed to be less ‘in your face’ than some bondage sites and is heavily text orientated. Without overt imagery and gifs, this can make it easier to browse the site whilst in public or where your screen might be observed.

The forums are indexed in a traditional and easy to navigate way with Bondage and Self Bondage each having their own category. Both are well posted to and have an active following of users. The former has over 3000 topics and 38000 posts whilst the latter has around 2000 topics and almost 30000 posts.

The site has a small but dedicated membership with around 60-80 people online at any given time from a member base of 12,238 people.

The Bound Forum covers a wide range of kinks and has a story section for budding authors or readers to really embrace their fantasies; some of these are very good and are well worth a browse.

The site is free to join.

Fetish

www.fetish.com

The ‘kink positive BDSM community for fetish dating’, Fetish.com is a popular social community whose main aim is to connect people. However, the support network for the dating side of the site also offers some great features including forums, event listings and news.

The Fetish Forum has several subcategories including a general BDSM forum which pretty much covers most things bondage. Posts get responded to quite quickly and activity is frequent but with a manageable level of active readership.

The site is free to sign up to and you can access the forum without a paid membership; the dating side of things will attract subscription charges.

The site is probably the biggest online community of fetishists having around 5 million members. Free to join and free to use, you can pay regular donations to enhance your profile and receive exclusive member bonuses.

Forum groups are varied and well populated with thousands of different categories and more than a million discussions going on. The community here is international and can be very vocal so you are almost guaranteed to get involved in active conversations whatever your topic.

A very private site, none of the conversations on the forum are indexed by search engines making FetLife a secure way to discuss your kinks.

BDSM Zone

www.bdsm-zone.com

Offering a simple text based forum without the bells and whistles of an all in one social networking service, BDSM-Zone is another free to register BDSM community website.

The site attracts several thousand members online at the same time which makes discussions fast and frequent allowing ready responses to posts.

The general BDSM board has over 7000 threads with more than 2 million posts. However, finding topics and discussions is quite easy using the advance search tool. A simple keyword and a few filter changes will deliver the most recent discussions.

An easy to use site, members are active, generally welcoming and no more than the usual negativity that you can experience on free to register forums. Be aware that there is a lot of spamming in some of the forum pages with ads being the biggest gripe.

Members share plenty of pictures on the site which is also a bonus.

BDSM

www.bdsm.com

BDSM offers a rich and varied community experience with over 32,000 groups to join offering more than 2.1 million discussions. There are bondage groups arranged by special interest and kink as well as by location meaning that you should be able to find one that suits you.

Membership to BDSM.com is free but each group has their own moderator who usually approves requests to join a group. You are often required to add a brief note about yourself when you initially join a group but most groups accept new members as standard.

Other features of the website may only be available on a paid subscription basis but the forums alone are worth signing up for as well as the news, information and blog pages.

Overall, BDSM.com has a large and active following and offers a rewarding community experience if you are prepared to put the same effort in.

You should note that BDSM.com Bondage.com and Alt.com are operated by the same company (Adult Friend Finder Networks) and offer the same service as one another.

iTaboo

www.itaboo.com

Ranked at Number 6 by Ranker as one of the Top Ten BDSM Social Networks, iTaboo is an online community of fetishists and kinksters. The site is free to join and requires only basic information and an avatar to establish a profile.

You can use the Fetish categories to find like-minded members with bondage enthusiasts representing a good proportion of other users.

The discussions and groups aren’t as active as some other sites and not every area is as well represented as some. Certainly the groups can be a little ‘cloistered’ and may not be for everyone; however, iTaboo does offer a discreet environment for connecting with others and may just appeal to those people who prefer a smaller discussion group.
